2015 Buick Grand National
Back in 1984 Buick set the automotive world and heads at rival GM subsidiary Corvette spinning with the introduction of the Buick GMX, complete with bumper stickers reading “We Brake for Corvettes” though it’s been some time since those glory days at Buick. Today’s new Buick cars have come a long way and are now beginning to offer innovative and class-leading performance again, with Turbocharged models of the 2013 Buick Verano and 2013 Buick Regal, both available now at Briggs Buick GMC in Manhattan, KS. Buick has even revived the Regal GS nameplate; but it’s not what’s currently sitting on lots that’s worth waiting for, it’s the all-new 2015 Buick Grand National and GNX that you’ll have to wait for, but it’s worth the wait, continue reading to find out why.
The original Grand National and GNX models were impressive performers and pioneered the use of sequential electronic fuel injection, ceramic-impeller turbochargers and distributor-less ignition systems. The 1987 limited run of GNX models was perhaps the last great Buick performance model to date, but we can expect something exciting from the 2015 Buick Grand National and a limited run of GNX models as well.
The2015 Buick Grand National and GNX models will be built on GM’s rear-drive Alpha platform, sharing some underpinnings with the Cadillac ATS and likely the next generation Camaro as well. The 2015 Buick Grand National will offer two engine options, the current Regal GS turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder producing 272 HP or a 3.6L V6 making 321 HP. The limited edition GNX models (only available in black) will up the power output from the 3.6L V6 with twin-turbochargers pushing horsepower figures to around 400 HP. There will be options of manuals for the turbocharged engines and automatic options across the board, but if you’re buying a 2015 Buick Grand National or GNX you’ll likely want the manual box.
At Briggs Buick GMC we’re excited to see Buick climb out of the recession to offer some incredible products in the current lineup and two models absolutely worth waiting for—the 2015 Buick Grand National and GNX.
