What’s new for the 2024 model year?

Quite a few minor updates and enhancements are coming to the Sierra 1500 lineup, starting with a new set of power retractable assist steps that will be standard on the AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels. An active exhaust system will be available on SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels. A pair of new premium aluminum wheels are available to choose from, as well as a pair of new exterior color options – Downpour Metallic and Thunderstorm Gray. In addition, there are some changes to the powertrain options, most notably the inclusion of the 3.0L Duramax engine in the AT4X.

3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel Engine Option

When it comes to off-road driving, the AT4 is the main option while the AT4X takes things a step further. Starting in the 2024 model year, the AT4X will come standard with the 3.0L Duramax engine option that was just updated in 2023. The powertrain is tied to a 10-speed automatic transmission and generates 305 horsepower alongside 495 pound-feet of torque. In addition to this change, the 2.7L turbocharged high-output engine option will now be called TurboMax.
