With the GMC Acadia getting a big makeover for the 2024 model year, enthusiasts might be wondering what’s up with the GMC Terrain this year. While the Terrain isn’t getting as big of an update as its big sibling this year, it does have a few exciting updates that we’ll go over below, and it still offers plenty of great specs and features that make it an excellent option in the compact crossover segment. Looking to the future, however, we have to wonder if the Terrain will follow suit and return to its previous segment, upsizing to the midsize segment? Until then, we’re stoked to offer the compact 2024 GMC Terrain right here at Briggs Buick GMC.
What’s new for 2024?
For starters, there are two new exterior color options joining the palette this year that we cannot wait to see in person. These two new options are Riptide Metallic and Downpour Metallic, which are shades of blue. In addition, GMC Pro Safety Plus is now standard on the AT4 and Denali trim levels and available on SLE and SLT.
Technical Specs
The 2024 GMC Terrain is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine tethered to a nine-speed automatic transmission and your choice of front- or all-wheel drive. It’s capable of generating 175 horsepower and we suspect it will be reasonably fuel efficient, though official ratings have yet to be released at the time of this page’s creation. Behind the rear seats you’ll have 29.6 cubic feet of space to fill with whatever you need to bring along, or 63.3 cu. ft. if you fold those rear seats flat.
GMC Pro Safety
Speaking of GMC Pro Safety, the base version of the safety suite is standard across the board and offers Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Front Pedestrian Braking and IntelliBeam automatic high beams. Pro Safety Plus also includes Adaptive Cruise Control and the Safety Alert Seat. You can also opt for HD Surround Vision, which is available on the SLT, AT4 and Denali trim levels.
